Brett Green Yowie Drama
Yowie / Bigfoot

Immediate Reaction to Green's Yowie Storytelling & Fakery
At this time, only 2 Yowie-researchers have publicly voiced their opinions:
Neil Frost (Aug 13, 2013)
If you remember, even without having seen the photographs, because it was not allowed and relying exclusively
upon the detailed “encounter” description, as supplied by Brett Green, I gave my opinion that this was a hoax. My reasons were based
upon a number of incongruities and unlikely events as stated by the witness which were extremely inconsistent with dooligahl behaviour.
Foremost of these improbabilities was the supposed opportunity to observe a number of these hominoids, at close range, unobstructed
and during daylight, without having been
detected but still allowing sufficient opportunities for them to be observed and photographed. There were other issues as well. For me, seeing the photographs at a later date was simply confirmation of this ruse.

What a shame that Night Stalker was not able to expose this hoax himself, despite devoting a very substantial
part of his internet life in attempting to uncover such frauds, using his investigatory skills! He must feel that he has waisted a
great deal of time and effort.
What a missed opportunity! Ed, should be very disappointed with yourself, simply
because everyone else knew the truth for a considerable period of time!
In his defense, Ed will most likely
quote cases from the past, including the Gympie examples. He will claim that all researchers are hoaxers and that Bret Green is inclusive
of this set, rather than a subset. He will probably express or quote some preemptive doubt about this hoax. New evidence, outside
the current set, will be news to him - for example, Sir Bret.
What is worse is that most researchers already
knew the reality and were conducting an extensive and lengthy investigation to confirm the evidence, rather than adopting a simple
reactive and irrational approach. Clearly, this forum is capable of ratting out its own transgressions, given time.
Ed, get your act together! Your a slacker!
Historical revisionism
Historical revisionism is ... the illegitimate distortion of the historical
record such that certain events appear in a more or less favorable light.
...
Reasons for revisionism
Historical revisionism is conducted to influence a target’s ideology and/or politics for a particular purpose. Revisionists understand Plato’s dictum that, "those who tell the stories also hold the power." Sometimes the purpose is as innocent as wanting to sell more books or attract attention with a startling headline. Often, however, that purpose is to achieve a nation’s aims by transferring war guilt, demonizing an enemy, providing an illusion of victory, or preserving friendship. James McPherson, President of the American Historical Association in 2003, wrote that some would want revisionist history understood as, "a consciously falsified or distorted interpretation of the past to serve partisan or ideological purposes in the present." Broadly understood, there are two motivations behind revisionist history: the ability to control ideological influence and to control political influence.
Ideological influence
... History is a tool that contributes to the shaping of national
identity, cultures, and memories. Through the study of history, individuals are imbued with a particular identity. By revising history,
therefore, one has the ability to specifically craft that ideological identity. Because historians are credited as people who single-mindedly
pursue truth, revisionist historians capitalize on the profession’s credibility and present their pseudohistory as true scholarship.
By adding a measure of credibility to their work, their ideas are more readily accepted in the public mind. To an extent, historical
revisionism is recognized as ‘truth-seekers’ finding different truths to fit the needed political, social, or ideological context.
Political
influence
... Revisionism can be used to cultivate specific politically motivated myths – sometimes with official consent.
Self-taught, amateur, or dissident academic historians manipulate and/or misrepresent historical accounts to achieve deliberate political
ends.
Revisionist techniques
... Instead of submitting their work to the challenges of a peer review, revisionists
rewrite history to support an agenda, and often use fallacies to obtain the desired results. Because historical revisionism can be
used to deny, deceive, or influence explanations and perceptions, it can be regarded as a technique of propaganda. Finally, techniques
of historical revisionism operate within the intellectual battlespace in order to advance an interpretation or perception of history...
Deception
Deception
is offensively using falsified information, lying, and obscuring the truth to manipulate information or opinion...

Thanks also for the plug on your Yowieocalypse site regarding the book, "Archetype of the Ape-Man". That book is well worth the read!
You and I have been at loggerheads, prodded each other in the past, and have been kidders. I crossed the line a little while back, and I apologise. There was no offence meant.
Dawn Prince-Hughes with a gorilla family (Photo: Robynne Sapp)
As a young adult, Prince-Hughes was employed at Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo. She watched how silverback male gorillas cared for their families and paternally intervened to resolve conflicts, thereby setting the tone for community behavior. She came to conclude anger often stems from embarrassment, and humor is a natural response to fear.
Yowie Revisionism Part 2 - Who Uncovered the Hoax?
Mike Williams: ... and Gary Opit deserve full credit for discovering How Brett Green Hoaxed his photos for his booklet "Yowie
Tales".
Gary Opit (Aug 20, 2013):
I had bought Brett’s book with the two published photos & very much enjoyed ready the reports of yowie & junjadee that he had collected. I thought that the face could have been genuine though I had a bit of trouble with the fact that the skull top was not more domed as usually described & I thought it unlikely that anyone could actually photograph a yowie in bright sunlight as the animal is supposed to be primarily nocturnal but I reserved judgment. Also the photo (divided into 3 photos in the book) showing two individuals walking across a rocky landscape was perplexing. The landscape itself was inconsistent with the geology of the locality where the photos were said to have been taken. In fact I had never observed such a landscape on this continent. I did not recognise the plants and the rocks looked very rough, as if it was a limestone geology. Our rocks & landscapes are very ancient, weather-worn, eroded, smooth & rounded. The hominins themselves were very slim animals & I thought it unlikely that one would have been able to take such photos of yowies walking in daylight in the open without them being aware of the photographer. However, there is always the chance of being in the right place at the right time & thought it unlikely that Brett would be foolish enough to publish fraudulent photos. I decided to wait until Brett published the next set of photos that were said to be of a family group with young.
A couple of weeks or more ago [...] showed me prints of the photos at lunch. One was of two males from behind & the other of a family group. I thought that the hominins portrayed looked much more primitive than say Homo erectus, more like Australopithecus, because of the extremely long forearms & the very small skulls. So I began examining all my books & on-line photos of Australopithecus & asked a colleague to also undertake a search of material on Australopithecus. I thought that the animals in the photos were definitely Australopithecus gracilis and that it would be very unlikely that had survived to the present and to have reached this continent. We finally found a documentary on Australopithecus gracilis on the internet called “Walking with Beasts - next of kin”, one that did not use actors dressed in hairy outfits, that we had seen on TV years ago, and we found the images on the video to be identical to the photos that Brett said that he had taken.
So I emailed [...] with the news that Brett had hoaxed all the photos and that he could view them for himself on the internet. I did not bother watching the entire video but alerted [...} to the fact that he could see the photo of the family group at 8:19 minutes at; and at around 9:31 are the shots taken from behind of the two fighting individuals with the male with his arms raised. I thought that it was most likely that the 2 photos that Brett published in his book would also be in the same video as it was then obvious that they were also computer animations from the same documentary. I believe that Steve is a friend of [...] & after [...] alerted his group to the existence of the documentary video, Steve no doubt watched it & eventually found the other 2 photos.

Yowieocalypse has become privy to information which is not mine to divulge and as such is withdrawing out of this story as of
now - it is not what I signed up for as a monster-hunter.
To Brett J. Green: Your greatest story is yet to be
told - may the real truth set you free...
