Yowie Lore 2019

The body of knowledge, especially of a traditional, anecdotal, or popular nature, on the Yowie subject as expressed in media reports:

2 or 3 types of Yowies – one 6-10ft and the other 3-5ft tall. A third type is apparently more gorilla-like and leaves footprints that do not resemble those of people.

Covered with hair, Yowies range in colour, from black, chocolate brown, grey and orange brown.

Reports date back to early settlement with the first 'official' Yowie report was made in Sydney in 1790 and there were a number of other sightings reported in the following decades. [FALSE - see Historical Reports of the Wild/Hairy Man.]

The Yowie, speculated to be Gigantopithecus, Australopithecine, Erectus, Neanderthal, Denisovan, and/or Floresiensis, is believed to have walked to Australia from Asia on 'land bridges' during the ice age. [FALSE - see Wallace Line.]

Yowies are in all the bushland. Tree breaks, stick formations, wood knocks and rock clacks are signs of Yowie activity. Also throw sticks and rocks at people in the bush.

Furthermore,Yowies often call out “hey you” to people in the bush. Yowies also scream like children in order to lure people away from camp. Yowies known to be attracted to isolated single women with children. Yowies are responsible for many missing persons.

Yowies also occasionally chase people out of the woods while soldiers on patrol exercises regularly have Yowies playing with them, running rapidly in rings around them - always just out of sight.

Tree breaks, stick formations, wood knocks and rock clacks are signs of Yowie activity. Also throw sticks and rocks at people.

Yowie numbers are increasing. Some Yowies are now moving permanently into small towns and regularly tease the inhabitants, sneaking around at night watching people, leaving dirty big hand prints on doors.

Some people feed them.
